Start your itinerary in São Miguel, the Green Island, with its volcanic craters, emerald-colored lakes, and relaxing thermal waters. Then fly to Pico, where spectacular landscapes await, dominated by Portugal’s highest volcano and vineyards unique in the world. Finish in Faial, the Blue Island, surrounded by hydrangeas, breathtaking ocean views, and the charm of Horta’s harbor.

Day 1: Welcome to Ponta Delgada – Arrival and Check-in
On this first day, you will land at Ponta Delgada Airport, the capital of the Azores. After arrival, you’ll head to your hotel for check-in and settle in before the start of your adventure.

Day 2: Exploring Ponta Delgada – History, Culture & Nature
Dedicate this day to discovering the wonders of Ponta Delgada and its surroundings. Stroll through the historic center with its cobbled streets and colonial architecture, and visit landmarks such as the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Esperança. To learn more about the island’s culture, a stop at the Carlos Machado Museum is a must. The António Borges Garden also offers a lush green space, perfect for a relaxing break surrounded by nature. Around the city, you’ll find breathtaking natural viewpoints, ideal for relaxing moments and admiring the typical landscapes of São Miguel. A balanced experience of culture, history, and nature awaits.

Day 3: Authentic Ponta Delgada – Colors, Flavors & Views
Discover the authentic side of Ponta Delgada with a walk through its lively streets and historic squares. Visit the Church of São Sebastião, a true architectural gem, and immerse yourself in the colors and aromas of Mercado da Graça, where you can taste local products. Stop by the harbor to admire views of the Atlantic Ocean, or enjoy a tranquil moment in António Borges Garden, an oasis of greenery perfect for families as well. Don’t miss the Forte de São Brás, which offers beautiful panoramic views and tells the maritime history of the island. To complete the day, explore the enchanting Baía de São Lourenço, perfect for a short excursion outside the city.

Day 4: Discovering São Miguel – Volcanic Lakes & Stunning Views
The island of São Miguel offers spectacular landscapes and a wide variety of natural attractions. Among the most iconic sites are the Sete Cidades lakes, nestled inside an ancient volcanic crater, and the Furnas area, famous for its fumaroles and lush vegetation. Unmissable viewpoints include Vista do Rei and the striking Miradouro da Boca do Inferno, from where you can admire breathtaking inland and coastal views. During your exploration, you’ll also discover traditional villages and relax on the island’s quiet beaches. São Miguel is ideal for travelers seeking close contact with nature.

Day 5: Eastern São Miguel – Villages, Cliffs & Wild Nature
Continue your exploration of the island by focusing on its eastern part, less touristy but equally fascinating. Along the rugged coastline you’ll find picturesque villages, green landscapes, and authentic glimpses of island life. A recommended stop is Ribeira Grande, one of the main towns of São Miguel. Along the way, you might pause in traditional villages to experience local life. Between spectacular viewpoints and untouched corners of nature, this day offers a perfect opportunity to discover new shades of the island, in a blend of relaxation and wonder.

Day 6: Welcome to Pico – Beginning the Adventure
Today you’ll transfer to the island of Pico, known for its volcano and winemaking traditions. After arrival, head to your accommodation, settle in, and enjoy some free time for a first taste of the island.

Day 7: Vineyards & Culture in Pico – Heritage & Sea
Begin the day with a visit to the famous currais vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These unique vineyards are organized among basalt stone walls that protect them from the wind. Head south to discover the natural pools of São Roque do Pico or stroll through Lajes do Pico, where the Whalers’ Museum tells the story of whaling and its transformation into sustainable tourism. Those who wish can join a boat excursion for whale and dolphin watching, one of the island’s most popular activities. End the day with dinner at a local restaurant, enjoying fresh fish and native island wines.

Day 8: Nature & Adventure in Pico – Volcanoes & Lava
Dedicate this day to exploring Pico’s most iconic sites. Revisit the lava stone vineyards, soak in the atmosphere of Madalena village, and discover the coastline with its striking natural pools. A must-see is Lagoa do Capitão, surrounded by greenery and offering stunning views of majestic Mount Pico. Nearby is Gruta das Torres, one of Europe’s longest lava tubes and a spectacular testament to the island’s volcanic origins.

Day 9: Welcome to Faial – New Island, New Emotions
Today you’ll arrive on the island of Faial, check in at your accommodation, and enjoy some free time for a first encounter with the island.

Day 10: Exploring Faial – Volcanoes, History & Nature
Discover the island of Faial, renowned for its volcanic landscapes, lush vegetation, and strong ties to navigation. Visit the lively town of Horta, famous for its harbor decorated with murals left by sailors from all over the world. Climb Monte da Guia for breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and the island. A must-see is the Capelinhos Volcano within the Faial Nature Park. Here, the lunar landscape formed by the 1957–58 eruption offers a unique geological experience.

Day 11: Farewell Day – Departure from the Azores
It’s time to say goodbye to the Azores archipelago. Today you’ll return to Ponta Delgada for your departure. Carrying with you the memories of a journey through nature, culture, and unforgettable landscapes, you’ll leave with the hope of returning to these enchanting islands.
