Lisbon, with its golden light, rolling hills, and iconic trams, is the perfect gateway to an experience that blends sport, nature, and discovery. Overnight in Lisbon.
2
Day 2 – Lisbon → Setúbal (80 km)
After breakfast, meet your English-speaking guide and receive your gravel bikes. Depart southward, leaving behind the city to enter the nature of the Arrábida Natural Park, one of Portugal’s most spectacular regions. After a transfer to Palmela, cycle through green hills, vineyards, and cork forests along scenic secondary roads with views over Setúbal Bay. Setúbal welcomes you with its vibrant atmosphere, colorful harbor, and the aroma of freshly grilled fish. Overnight in Setúbal.
3
Day 3 – Setúbal → Santiago do Cacém (70 km)
Begin the day with a short ferry ride from Setúbal to the Tróia Peninsula, crossing the calm Sado River, home to flamingos and dolphins. Ride through Comporta, a charming village known for its white-and-blue houses and stork nests. Following the coastal road, the landscape shifts from sand dunes and marshes to golden fields and rural villages. After a stop in Grândola, famous for its role in the Carnation Revolution, continue to Santiago do Cacém, a historic town crowned by a medieval castle overlooking the ocean. Overnight in Santiago do Cacém.
4
Day 4 – Santiago do Cacém → São Teotónio (85 km)
One of the most beautiful stages: from the rolling Alentejo hills to the wild Atlantic coast, through pine forests and Mediterranean scrub. The sound of the ocean accompanies you as the sea breeze fills the air. Arrive in São Teotónio, a charming village in the Vicentine Coast Natural Park, where time seems to stand still. Relax, stroll through its whitewashed lanes, and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Overnight in São Teotónio.
5
Day 5 – São Teotónio → Monchique (50 km)
A shorter but more challenging stage, with climbs and descents through the green inland of the Algarve. The vegetation becomes denser with cork oaks, chestnut trees, and streams along the route. Arrive in Monchique, a famous thermal town perfect for relaxation. Optional access to the thermal spa (€25 extra) is available for those who wish to unwind body and mind. Overnight in Monchique.
6
Day 6 – Monchique → Sagres (95 km)
The final stage is truly epic. From the inland greenery, cycle towards the deep blue Atlantic, crossing the Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Majestic cliffs, crashing waves, and the scent of the sea mark your approach to Sagres – the southwestern tip of Europe. Enjoy breathtaking views and a unique feeling of freedom. Visit the Sagres Fortress or watch a stunning sunset at the “end of the world.” Overnight in Sagres.
