After check-in, enjoy your first stroll through palm-lined streets, cobbled alleys, artisan shops, and picturesque ocean views – the perfect way to immerse yourself in the island’s unique atmosphere. A perfect start to embrace the spirit of this journey!
2
Day 2 – Trekking at Ponta de São Lourenço: the wild soul of Madeira
Our first adventure takes us to the easternmost point of the island, along the trail of Ponta de São Lourenço. A 3–4-hour trek among spectacular cliffs, endless horizons, and vivid colors that seem painted by nature. Here, the raw power of the elements – volcanic rock, wind, and ocean – defines the landscape. Breathtaking views open up towards the north and south coasts, reaching as far as the Morro do Furado lighthouse and the Desertas and Porto Santo islands. An intense and inspiring start to your hiking experience. Packed lunch included.
3
Day 3 – Rabaçal / 25 Fontes Trekking: nature’s masterpiece
One of Madeira’s most iconic trails – a network of forests, waterfalls, and levadas. From the Paúl da Serra plateau, descend to the Rabaçal refuge, starting point for the Levada do Risco and the famous Levada das 25 Fontes. The path leads through lush vegetation to a crystal-clear lagoon at the base of a rock wall from which twenty-five waterfalls cascade down – an unforgettable sight. Return through a scenic tunnel that channels water toward the island’s south – a surprising finale to a day of wonder. Packed lunch included.
4
Day 4 – Cultural Tour: Northern Madeira & Porto Moniz
A day to discover the island’s authentic side. First stop at Cabo Girão, one of the highest cliffs in the world, where a glass viewpoint offers spectacular ocean views. Continue to São Vicente, with its 17th-century church, and then to Porto Moniz, famous for its over 6,000-year-old natural volcanic pools. Free time for lunch and swimming. On the way back, stop in Câmara de Lobos, the colorful fishing village that inspired Winston Churchill’s paintings. Packed lunch included.
5
Day 5 – Monte & Botanical Garden: tradition and nature
Morning visit to Monte, a charming hillside district home to the sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Monte, the island’s patron saint. From here depart the famous wicker toboggans – a truly unique experience! Continue to the Botanical Garden, a paradise of color and fragrance with over 2,500 plant species from around the world (entrance included). Free afternoon and evening to explore Funchal or relax with ocean views. Optional: Afternoon catamaran cruise along the southern coast with dolphin and whale watching and a swim stop near Cabo Girão. Packed lunch included.
6
Day 6 – Trilho do Fanal: magical mists and endless horizons
One of Madeira’s most iconic hikes – the Trilho do Fanal, including a stop at the famous Miradouro dos Assobiadores. A 10 km trail of moderate difficulty for a full day immersed in wild nature. The ancient laurel trees, often wrapped in mist, create an almost mystical atmosphere, frozen in time. The path continues toward the Paúl da Serra plateau, with rolling hills and views stretching to Pico Ruivo, Madeira’s highest peak. The final panorama from Miradouro dos Assobiadores is breathtaking – mountains, light, and silence embracing the horizon. Packed lunch included.
